A guirlanda, adereço típico do Natal, é uma tradição romana que deseja saúde aos moradores que a têm em sua porta principal. Pelo 9º ano o Lar Center realiza o seu Leilão de Guirlandas, cuja arrecadação é destinada a uma entidade beneficente. Neste ano uma novidade: os visitantes do shopping podem fazer seus lances durante todo o mês de Novembro.

As 14 guirlandas ficam expostas até o dia 30/11 na praça central do Lar Center. O interessado em dar um lance para arrematar uma guirlanda pode participar, em uma modalidade conhecida como "leilão de parede". Um funcionário estará ao lado da mostra, orientando o preenchimento do cupom, em que visitante poderá fazer o seu lance. No dia 1º/12 haverá a apuração das ofertas, quando as 14 guirlandas irão para quem der os maiores lances.
Glorinha Baumgart, idealizadora do projeto e autora de um livro que ensina técnicas de montagem de guirlanda, tem três trabalhos próprios em exibição. Sobre as guirlandas feitas por artistas e personalidades como Hebe Camargo e Débora Secco, Glorinha afirmou que não deu um tema específico, "cada um pode criar como quisesse, dando asas à imaginação". Ela forneceu apenas a coroa básica para a montagem, mas alguns artistas plásticos usaram outros suportes, pois tinham total liberdade para criar sua guirlanda

Para Gabriela Baumgart, diretora de marketing do Lar Center, esse evento é uma união dos dotes manuais de Glorinha com a necessidade de ajudar a comunidade. Ela informou que os artistas doaram integralmente o seu trabalho à campanha, e toda a arrecadação será destinada à Associação de Assistência à Criança Deficiênte - AACD.
