O Engordador é um dos quatro núcleos de visitação do Parque Estadual da Cantareira. Para muitos, é o mais bonito deles. Oportunidade para prática dos 22 aprendizes que participaram da oficina de fotografia promovida pela parceria Recanta/ Senac, dentro do projeto Um Olhar Sobre a Cantareira.

A jornada fotográfica seguiu pela trilha da Cachoeira |
Camila Chiarantano, uma das articuladoras da oficina, disse que a idéia foi a de instrumentalizar, de forma básica, os interessados em participar do concurso "Um olhar sobre a Cantareira". "Os interessados aprenderam técnicas básicas de fotografia para melhor registrar a nossa Cantareira", disse Camila. A oficina foi ministrada pelo prof. Rafael Coelho, docente do curso de fotografia do Senac Santana.
No início os monitores do parque apresentaram um vídeo contando a história da região e da serra da Cantareira. Em seguida Coelho apresentou conceitos básicos de fotografia e técnicas para melhor captar as imagens. Para a prática, foi feita uma saída fotográfica pela trilha da Cachoeira, com o retorno para o feedback dos alunos com o professor. Devido à riqueza da paisagem, José Dias de Carvalho, um dos alunos, considerou pouco tempo as 2 horas disponíveis para a sessão de imagens. "A Casa da Bomba poderia ser mais bem explorada, mas não houve tempo para tal", disse Dias.
