A última oficina do SP 2040 na Zona Norte aconteceu em um clima descontraído. O pequeno número de participantes fez o coordenador Carlos Honorato conduzir a atividade através de um diálogo livre, pautado nas questões colocadas pelo projeto.

Como em cinco das seis oficinas realizadas na ZN, o número de pessoas ligadas ao poder público, especialmente à subprefeitura local, foi sensivelmente maior do que o de representantes da comunidade. Sem o uso do datashow, Honorato deu a palavra aos participantes, que foram respondendo ao questionário enquanto debatiam as seguintes questões: Qual a cidade que queremos? Quais os desafios a enfrentar para atingir essa cidade? Quais os principais projetos com capacidade de gerar essa transformação?
A proposta do SP 2040 é orientar a escolha de políticas pública e projetos que serão realizados em São Paulo durante os próximos 30 anos. Para uma cidade que nunca executou planejamento de longo prazo, esse é um desafio que merece a atenção de todos. O projeto sentiu falta, nessa primeira etapa, de uma divulgação mais intensa.
A prefeitura investiu na contratação da Fundação da USP para conduzir essa etapa inicial. Porém não usou recursos para a divulgação. Um projeto que pretende durar 30 anos, e ter a participação popular, precisa ser mais conhecido pela população.
