O largo do Japonês poderia se chamar "largo do encontro", pois para esse local convergem quatro importantes avenidas: Parada Pinto, Itaberaba, Imirim e Dep. Emílio Carlos. Essa praça emblemática abrigou a solenidade de rua do aniversário da Cachoeirinha.

A manhã fria e cinzenta foi aquecida com uma singela homenagem aos 77 anos de existência da Cachoeirinha. O palco foi montado às pressas, e com duas horas de atraso na agenda, às 11h teve início a solenidade, com execução do Hino Nacional e hasteamento da bandeira. Em seguida tiveram a palavra Suzete Torres, do CDC Vinoca e membro da organização do evento; Dalva Forno, presidente do CONSEG Cachoeirinha, e o vereador Kamia. O bombeiro Caetano lembrou a importância da valorização dos símbolos pátrios, como as bandeira. Foi anunciado que a Associação Bombeiro Mirim Juvenil Voluntário, presidida por Caetano, deve ganhar breve a parceria da Fundação Cafu, para realização de um projeto especial na região.

A data oficial de aniversário da Cachoeirinha, 05 de Agosto, foi definida utilizando a mesma data de fundação da Associação Cultural e Esportiva Nipo-Brasileira da Cachoeirinha, criada no ano de 1933. Por isso "Largo do Japonês" é um nome pertinente desse local, onde se encontram os antigos caminhos que vinham do Tremembé (av. Parada Pinto), do Limão (av. Dep. Emílio Carlos), de Santana (av. Imirim) e da Freguesia do Ó (av. Itaberaba).
O grupo Gingarte apresentou danças de capoeira. Ao final do evento a escola de línguas Skill convidou a todos para um breve coquetel comemorativo em sua unidade, com direito a bolo com vela e um "Parabéns a Você".
